Slip on those running shoes and join us for this year's Camp Claphans 5K race and fun walk and run.
The event will take place at 8:30 a.m. on May 4 at the campgrounds located at the J.D. McCarty Center at 2002 E. Robinson St.
Proceeds from the event will go toward expanding our camp program. Camp Claphans serves children with disabilities, ages 8 to 20. Campers get to experience a variety of activities that include horseback riding, canoeing, archery, swimming, talent shows and dance parties. Kids also get to try new activities and gain new friends.
The cost of the 5K is $30 and the price for the fun run/walk is $25. T-shirts are included for both events. Following the race, there will be an open house at the camp for visitors to learn more about the program.
